Any Oklahoma/North Texas Members?

Scholarship, we spoke earlier re: the 02 280DA in Austin, deal is done :smt038 . We primarily hang out at Highport and N. Island. Hope to see you around the lake this year. Thanks for all of your help, your information helped me make the purchase    .

Great news! I'm so glad it worked out for you. Have you taken delivery? Are you going to trailer or get a slip somewhere on Texoma? We have a slip available on our dock if you're interested (although it may not be convenient for you). Let's make a point to get together sometime this summer. You should have my email and cell number so don't hesitate to call or leave messages under this post. Don't forget to post some pics of her when you get the chance. Again, congratulations!

We are at Walnut Creek, we go to the North Islands quite a bit, cruise through Highport on occasion, and do some cove hopping. We will be at the North Islands Memorial Day weekend, maybe we will see you there.

Old thread but I'll bump it up. :D

Our boat came from Alberta Creek when we bought it back in '01. When we're up there however, we're usually on the west end or as far east as the Little Mineral Arm and maybe Sandy Creek Beach. Of course with kiddo's on board, North Island is simply a slow cruise by, wave and friends I know there and off we go as Momma is telling me we need to get out of there.

We'll be up on the weekend of the 4th though.

I am a new member so be nice! My wife and I have a boat on Lake Lewisville but are looking to move to Texoma this summer/fall. We are going to get a larger boat before the move and are looking at a 320 or 340. Since it is a 2 to 3 day trip everytime we will go up with the kids we are leaning toward the 340. Any recommendations? We are also considering HighPort Marina. Thanks!

If you can find a good deal on a 340 that would be your ticket. It is a great size for boating on Texoma. I have been on the lake 25+ years, including 10 at Highport, and I would recommend you look at Mill Creek instead. It is the next marina west of Highport and IMO more family friendly. Mill Creek and Grandpappy are operated by the Commadore Marine group. There are a number of new slips available tochoose from.
I am in boat house 10 and have a 2002 360DA. If you have any questions about the lake are boats, contact me. Also, I was the GM for MMax in Dallas.

We are at Cedar Mills. This is a great place with a lot to offer. Family freindly, great new resturant, and they have a nice 340 for sale, ask for Rick.

Bortelld,

I can highly recommend the 340 for a family of four. I actually purchased mine from Daryl when he was a sales rep at Marinemax in Lewisville. I believe the 340 for sale at Cedar Mills is a 1999 model. I've not been aboard the boat, but it appears in excellent shape.

Highport is know for it's partying. Cedar Mills is a lot more laid back. Depending on how old your kids are and your tolerance for noise, the decision can be an easy one. HP has better services with a new restaurant opening soon. CM's new restaurant is nice with good food. They typically have bands once a month in the summer. One disadvantage at CM is the lack of water useage in the winter on the dock. Not a major issue, but an annoyance for those of us that use the boat year around. I believe HP and Mill Creek have water year around.

Good luck finding a boat. I think you'll have plenty to choose from at a great price.

We cruised through Mill Creek a couple of weeks ago. Mill Creek had quite a few slips open and it looked pretty clean also. I would consider it but it is 20 minutes by boat and about 50 minutes by car. Right now we are only about 10 minutes from the slip by car.

I'm an Oklahoma boater... but we tend to stay at Tenkiller, any members up this way?

Wow, raised from an 11 year hibernation! :)

Yes, still at Highport although due to other distractions haven't used the boat very much at all this year.

NW Oklahoma, boat on a small lake called Ft. Supply. Wife and I went to Tenkiller last year for a long weekend. Love that lake.
