Recently my remote flood light broke. I rarely boat after dark but for those times I wanted a flood light for emergency purposes. I always found the remote light to be awkward to use. I was thinking a hand held would be much more efficient. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Go get a deer spotting light from cabellas or even walmart, most of them are 300,000 candle power, carry one in both of my boats. Just make sure your circuit can take the load as they can draw some power.

I bought a guidesman led spotlight from MENARDS. It was $40 the battery last a long time and its a hell of a lot brighter than the Jabsco spotlight on my boat.

I've used hand helds for years because they're so much easier to use than the mounted lights. I go to my local ACE Hardware and buy them. They cost about $20-$25, they're a 1 million candlepower, 12VDC rechargeable and they last for about 2-3 years before they won't hold a charge any more.

They're definitely worth $10/year.

The flood light is a simple bulb replacement and I will fix it. When it went out it just made me realize I mught be better off with a hand held. Having both is a good idea
