Anybody notice an extra Sundancer in their marina???

Saw that on a sea ray facebook page also
does seem odd

Since you asked,, I found it odd that a google search did not produce any results for the theft of a $150k boat in a small town, that the owners friend was the poster [not the owner??] and, I am generally suspicious of some ads on the internet.
As an example, I was looking at a 380 Sundancer that was being sold near Syracuse,NY. During the seach, I ran across the same pictures of the boat, this time being sold by a "broker" in Texas. I phoned the NYS dealer who said that the boat was, in fact, sitting about 50' away from him. The guys in Tx, were just trying to get some sucker to send them a deposit and then disappear..goodbye deposit.
So..just my skepticism over the internet... although MOPAR seems to agree with me...

Goodluck to your friend..hope its covered by insurance.

I know the owner of that boat. Why do you think that it is strange?
maybe I am jus thinking in a "small body of water" fashion
just seems odd no one noticed it being taken. My dockmates all keep close eyes to stranger danger. maybe his isn't the norm

Although Kingston is on a fairly large body of water, Lake Ontario, the marine community is small compared to New York City or Ft. Lauderdale. It is also land locked. To go down river, you have to navigate the locks in the seaway, upriver/lake is the Welland, into the states is the Barge Canal. North is the Rideau Canal. Security surveillance. Otherwise, the option is trailering, not easy for a boat with a 13+ beam [permits??]. And freeze up is approaching. So where does the thief stash it?? Again, our marinas are small by US standards. This is still a relatively large boat by Cdn standards so it will stick out in a marina as a new arrival.
My suggestion would be to rent a c172 and do an arerial survey of the area to see if it is abandoned in a bay somewhere [joyride??] or tied up to somebodys dock.
