here are my transom speakers....i can control them (volume up-down) as a separate zone from the helm.....they work nice while swimming behind the boat or sitting behind the boat while docked.....our dock is covered so exposure to the elements is not a concern but they are 'marine' grade speakers....

I have a pair of JL's high on the arch where access plates had been. They're on a separate zone from the speakers in the factory location that are aimed directly at people's heads while sitting in the cockpit. It has made a huge difference to able to increase the volume without blaring into someone's ear.
On my 400DA, the arch is too narrow near the top to flush-fit 6.5's. They needed spacers, which naturally are lighted with LED's.
