Looking at purchasing a memory foam mattress and wanted to get some feedback. The one I am interested has 1" of gel & 2" of memory foam & 6" of high density foam. It feels great laying on it in the store but you never know till you sleep on it for a week.

Just looking for some opinions. How do you like it? How is it holding up?

I have one in my aft cabin that is 6" of regular foam and 2" of memory. I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable is and plan to get another one for the guest state room. I think it cost about $200. Mark

We have an 8" memory foam in the master. It was around $300 at SAMS (king size). It feels just as comfortable as our tempurpedic at home which cost ~15x more. Holding up just fine so far under my svelte 235 lbs. There was another thread on this just a few weeks ago I think. you might google-clubsearay it...

Great stuff. Overstock dot com. We had 3" on the 340. Haven't bothered on new boat, yet.

We had one of the memory foam pads and got rid of it. It held in body heat and was uncomfortably warm to sleep on. I'm always warm and GW's always cold but both of us were in agreement to get rid of it.

Our tempurpedic can be that way if its summer and we don't have some air flow and AC. we keep the boat to the point you could pack meat if you wanted so we haven't noticed it on the boat. I've had lower back problems for years but it all disappeared when we bought the tempurpedic and the boat memory foam seems to be working just as well. but its true, the body heat issue is a memory foam characteristic although they have alot of different foam designs now that help improve heat dissipation.

We put a topper in the Mid cabin and we like it. The V-Berth is now for watching TV and storage for the bow sun pad, Mike.

That is what we did as well with a memory foam that we cut to fit and put in a double mattress pad to bag it. We got ours at Costco for $100ish.

Got two memory foam "toppers" from Costco last season -- one for the aft and the other for the V berth and they made a huge difference!

We added a 4" egg crate style foam topper in our v-berth and it's night and day sleeping on it. Since we have the hanging locker on the port side and another storage compartment on the starboard side I couldn't go any thicker or we wouldn't have been able to open the compartments.
