I was searching for a used dock box and found this on Craigslist in St. Louis. I have been on lots of docks with Sea Rays but haven't seen a dock box like this. The seller told me that it came with his 36' Sea Ray that he purchased new in 1985. The nonskid surface on top, gelcoat color and logo are identical to boats from the late 1970's through the early '90's. Obviously, I brought it home. It is in near perfect condition. The grate is teak. Curious if anyone has ever seen one of these.

That's a pretty cool box but I am dubious of it being Sea Ray. The Sea Ray script doesn't exactly match the Sea Ray mark.

I would have bought it anyway, though! :)

The "Sea" part of the logo is good but the spacing between the R and ay is definitely off. I haven't been able to find an actual '80's emblem to purchase and compare. The color and texture is identical to Sea Rays of that era in a side by side comparison. It was built 40 years ago so I doubt there is anyone around that can give us a definitive answer. For what I paid it was a bargain compared to a new one and way cooler. I'm happy with it.

I’ll take a shot at it. The mid-90’s 370 Aft Cabin boats came with a fiberglass seating unit on the aft deck or a dock box. I wonder if this was the 80s version.

Might have been. Apparently they were a there were a few of them back in the day:

My dockmates already think I'm a Sea Ray snob for wearing Sea Ray shirts, koozies etc. (except for the other Sea Ray owner) I'd LOVE to find one of these!! It would push them over the edge!!

Not sure where you are located but the Craigslist ad that I linked above is current. Might be worth a road trip!

Very nice find! I would love to have one of these in my slip!!
