Attn: Pirate Lady and Others - Need Dock Bar Recommendations

we hit up Crazy Tuna for lunch on Sunday. First time there, neat place, decent food and and good crushes.
Tuna. Thats my go to when out on zodiac, closest bar, i like it there. I have friends at Middle River Yacht Club next door. They have floating piers and let me tie up zodiac there.
Carson- its a nice place, mostly land lubbers. I used to go time back cause i kept my previous boat at private house pier 3 doors down and walked there. I dont go anymore only cause the slips are way too big for my boat. Too difficult to reach the front pilings for boat and No zodiac access to get ashore.
Good water all around, no shallows, good access. Be fine for you.
PS. The point between Hopkins Creek (Tuna) and Dark Head Creek (Carsons) you’ll see a pole a ways out. Dont go in straight line between the two. Very shallow in that point. Stay outside that pole.

Went to Bowleys on the Bay Monday for dinner, was able to tie up at fuel dock after 5pm. Good food and cool place.

We did Carsons Creekside last night for dinner. Really impressed with the food at this place. Not a lot of docking options though if on a crowded weekend. Side note, I was expecting Carsons to be a little less expensive then Bowleys, but they ended up being roughly the same money. But the food was just as good as Bowleys.

Im glad you had good time.
Next try Tiki Lee on Back River, see them on Facebook.
VERY popular place. On a weekend I would go early, it gets crowded.
That is the Key Bridge in the horizon for reference.

Had a great weekend at Tolchester. Went there on Friday afternoon and just got back late this afternoon. Had a bunch of friends go up there as well.

Chris Sacks was great but Sons of Pirates got rained out. A bit of a bummer there, but had a great time just the same.

I cancelled at the last minute Saturday morning. I was going specifically to see SOP. Was concerned about storms, would have been really p*ssed if I had gone.
I thought your boat was too big for that place. They get you a slip?

No, is too big for the day slips. The first covered dock, Nantucket, is all 60'slips. Still very tight maneuvering. There was plenty of room. Even though it was packed, I think the threat of storms kept people away.

I REALLY. wanted to go, but with wife in hospital, i was going to go with a female friend of ours who we take out on boat a lot. Fact is she not experienced and I need an experienced mate to do all the stuff wife does without even thinking about it. Watching gauges, pointing out crab pots, pointing out a boat approaching in my blind spot, knowing what to do with lines, all that kind of stuff the wife learned over so many years of boating.
I just didnt feel comfortable. So I canceled.
I can handle it alone during the week. Going take it this week get fuel and run a while to scrub off the slime. But weekends with all the boats, i need eyes.

Sorry we couldn't meet up, would have been nice to have a beer together.

Nope, I have not moved the boat since wife got injured on 7/19. This is the first time I have ever heard of anything like this. That place has been there forever, the neighbors should be used to it by now. I will check out their FB page.

SOP be there this Sunday at 1. I need torun the boat to get slime off, been almost a month. I dont think this summer is as bad as last. Not seeing fur along water line, tabs, or top of od. Last year this time it was horrible with fur.
I can handle the boat alone, and a nice long run will clean bottom and outdrive good. Will have to temper the beer, but a couple hours there will do me good. Been a very long time since I had time alone just the Pirate Wench and me.

I'd join you except I am taking a few days next week and going to Solomon's for a five days. Need three days there for the dinghy rides etc. Have fun, that should be a good time.

Enjoy Solomons. Never been by boat. Took daughter on a bicycle day trip back when she was 12. Great time. Furthest south i been by boat is Oxford. Beyond that, cost of fuel, the juice ain’t worth the squeeze. I would love to gofurther. Just can’t seem to justify the cost.

Speaking of cost; not to thread jack. I was recently informed by bar buddies. That tournament going on in OC. Its like 10 grand entry fee per person, and thats just for starters. They said Michael Jordan spends at least a million to enter his boat. Things called Calcuttas can drive up cost/purse. Not a gambler but apparently this thing goes on a few weeks and the money bets are insane.
Apparently with GPS on all boats the officials can tell who fishes too early/late or out the boundaries. They said last year some boat had put up a ridiculous entry fee only to be disqualified. Apparently this is some crazy serious gambling.
I’ve heard rumors of this thru the years but it seems in the last few the money has exploded. Any of you got stories?

Entry fee is $ 1,200.00, then you can spend crazy money on the calcuttas. Son has been doing it for the last 4 years. Lousy fishing this year, no White Marlins we’re weighed
