an issue has come about which will eventually require the rebuild of my Simrad auto pilot drive motor and pump. The issue is the motor is starting to draw to much power and periodically shuts down. Simrad pumps are hard to find parts for. Several repair shops just flat out tell you they don’t do Simrad. Question is can I simply by pass the Simrad issue and just replace the motor and pump assembly with an Accu-Steer unit.
