battery charger and engine alternators....

Cliff on the 99 to 2002 the gen battery is not connected to charger at all the only way to charge gen battery is to run gen. The other 3 are charged by charger. Look on sea ray wire diagram and there is no connection to charger.

well that is interesting....i'll definitely look at the wiring diagram....i have a 3 bank charger...i 'assumed' one bank was for the starboard engine battery, one bank was for the house/port engine battery bank, and the 3rd was for the genny battery.....do you know what the 3rd bank of the charger is connected to if not to the genny battery?

thanks for the heads-up.....i'll definitely be running my genny more often now....

i just looked at the wiring diagram for my 2001.....it is pretty small print so it is hard to see...i will look at it under a magnifying glass tonight...but i think i see two wires running to the positive side of the genny battery...one wire is from the genny and the other wire is from the #3 bank of the converter.....the other two banks of the converter are connected to the starboard engine battery (#2 converter bank) and the port battery bank (#1 converter bank) which is the house and port engine batteries......

i could be wrong but it sure looks that way to me...

not sure if you can see the detail from this snip-it shot but the wiring in question is in the upper right side...
