i try to chase down a wet cabin carpet on my 240 DA but first i have to understand the bilge layout since looking closer at it this is the first boat which confuses me and maybe somebody can help.

in the forward section of the boat the only place you can look quickly is the shower pump below the entry steps. it sits on an even bracket but the hull is Vee so it cannot be the real bottom . what is below this shower pump ?

looking forward between the v berth (where the pedestal of the cabin table fits it ) the cabin floor significantly rises and it seems this is a huge enclosed "box" without any possibility to inspect or look into the real hull bottom of the boat ( check for water there ) .

can i get access to the real V shaped bottom of the boat in the front cabin section ?

are there limber holes between the front bilge area and the engine room bilge or are this two sealed compartments ?

thanks for any help !!!

best regards

My answer to your questions is, I don't know. I haven't had the need to try to look in there. I solved my carpet issues and every other issue above the floors.

The only thing I can say is, There must be a limber hole of some sort into the shower sump area. Water will seep in there from somewhere if I fill up my bilge with water. I have done this to see if it will. Sorry I'm of little help.
