Our intent was to get married at the end of June. But, given Covid, we didn't want to have "that party". Even though the party was going to be small (60-70 ppl), you know how quickly things add up, and it would have been $15k or more. Plus the honeymoon.

Because of Covid, we have postponed to next July. But, meanwhile, we've been spending lots of time on the lake. One thing leads to another, and we've put a deposit on a new Sea Ray 290 SDX. We figure this is our honeymoon... because we aren't goin anywhere!

She came up with the idea of naming the boat "Honeymoon". I thought maybe "Our Honeymoon". What do you think? Any other creative ideas to help us name our new ride?

The best boat names are those that have a personal meaning for the owner(s). Also, lesson #1 in marriage 101 is that if mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy. She likes "Honeymoon", so...

Agreed. I personally like "Honeymoon" over "Our Honeymoon" as "Our" is implied. I also concur that if she really likes "Honeymoon", you are safest to go with that choice. ;)

Or you can float "The Mistress" by her and see what happens. :)

I am thinking everytime you look at the boat you are going to think of the Honeymoon you never had... do the honeymoon....its a memory you will have for a lifetime....the boat is a boat

That's an interesting perspective. But, I wasn't looking at it as a total negative. I was looking at it more like we traded a week or two honeymoon for a 5 to 10 year boat. Thanks for the thought! We will take it as valuable feedback!

We got married in City Hall because we have a very dysfunctional family....so that was free.... The honeymoon we rocked.... this was 31 years ago and I remember it like it was yesterday..... do the honeymoon when you can and do it right
