Lake St Clair - MI (Belle Maer Harbor)
Boat Info

The old name is now off the boat and the graphics company has given me a couple of options. Looking for opinions on the size. Belle Maer Harbor will end up on the lower left regardless. Option one was keeping the name within the lid. Too me it looks like the name was sized to the lid with no regard to the width of the boat. Second stretched the name so the letters didn't need to be cut for the lid opening. Anyway, here y'all go. The color will end up as close to the hull /canvas color which will be darker than images.

On our first boat, we kept the name so that it didn’t bridge any “gaps”. On the new boat, we had to put it on the trunk because of the dinghy. Go with the bigger. You’ll never regret it.

We used the layout as shown in the pic. Plus, we went past the Transom locker.

Bigger is better, seriously it looks more sized to the boat IMO.

I also vote bigger but I'd add a vote to leave off the harbor name. I think that's a bit too much? My two cents only...and that's more than you asked for :)
A lot of the owners there have it displayed. If I was a renter, I would leave it off. I do understand your thinking. We like to differentiate that we aren't officially part of Safe Harbor Belle Maer.

Bigger, but do you really need the entire dictionary for your hailing port? "Harrison Township" seems like it would suffice. oops I see @Stee6043 beat me to it.

Sounds like it’s an “owners vs renters” thing. Seems a bit excessive but still far better than the dude that insisted on naming his Sea Ray “Wet Dreams” or whatever it was last year :):)

Maybe a compromise - just make the hailing port info smaller?

The name should be centered on the transom. The port should be smaller, also centered and a different color to distinguish the 2.

The name should have classy italicized script letters, the port should be block letters.

Use port and state, leave out the township - its too busy.

That's simply my opinion, and its the way all, of my boats have been lettered.
