Boating in Boston

Looks like I will be spending alot of time in Boston this summer. Can someone give me lead me to where I can learn the ropes boating in the area? Does anyone know where I can take some boating classes? Boating in the bay and ocean will be new to me. Thanks.

Boatwise runs quite a full schedule of classes in the Boston area (www.Boatwise.com), and most of the basic classes can be finished in one day. There are also becoming quite a few Boston/Cape Cod boat guys on this board, and they may be able to direct you places as well. I do most of my boating down around Cape Cod & the islands, and have not been up to Boston area with the boat too much.

I have a 2006 260 Da I use in Pittsburgh, I won't have a boat up in Boston. I want to learn about boating in the bay and coast.
