Glad to know it isn't my imagination that painted seem more durable.

My Tiara had a black and gold combination that was done as apart of the gel coat. I’m not not sure how they did that as there was not difference in the thickness of the finish in that area. I believe Tiara uses paint now so it must be a very durable alternative.
That boat was a dream to detail with no vinyl tape to worry about. Hit the scum line with acid in the fall and polish it with a wool pad and it looked brand new year after year.

I ditched mine and raised the bottom paint so I vote without

I like your boat/look with out the stripe my concer now is the shadow the stripe leaves did you get ride of that ? Hand how ? I believe with wet sanding and compound, but just like when you take the name off the transom, does it still show the shadow?

I 3 step compound/polished the whole boat this year so the cutting stage smoothed it out nicely. It’s there if you looked closely but hard to see. You could wet sand to completely rid of it

Without is my vote. Your boat looks awesome without it. We removed ours with the intention of replacing it but liked it better without.

I like a black line above the bottom paint. Breaks it up. I am redoing mine now, had a 3/4 white line added to 4 inch black, placing the white along the bottom to create a separation from the bottom paint. Make it easier to clean the scum my water line. New barrier coat in the pic I attached. Bottom paint will be done soon.

I was thinking of changing mine to black and silver. Now I’m thinking of removing them.

We had the standard Black & Gold. Was fairly simple to remove with a 3M Eraser Wheel; once started we were able grab it peal it off a couple feet at a time. The gel coat was a little brighter underneath color wise but unless you were really close with the right angle of light could it be noticed. Ultimately we went back with a large silver and smaller black stripe, it helped lend an eye break to the scum line.

I noticed in the picture of the boat I posted and your boat you guys raised the bottom paint line. I have my boat at a detail shop they’re doing a four step Detail, I’ll look at it when they’re done taking off the stripes and see what it looks like, I don’t really want to raise the bottom paint line, and I already bought the stripes, or I could just see what it looks like without the stripe and if I don’t like it I could put the stripes back on in the winter since I store it in doors heated . I DO LIKE THE BOAT WITH OUT THE STRIPE ! I have the blue canvas , should add to the contrast of the All white .
Any one want to buy dark navy and silver stripes LOL

See you reversed the stripe(looks great) so it’s different from the others ,
That’s another reason I’m leaning toward no stripe . Very shiny and nice trailer too !!

I did order the 3 1/2 , 3/4 space , 3/4 silver , but the boat without the stripe looks a little different ,that boat also has white canvas , my canvas is the SR dark blue , working on getting old stripe off now ! NOT FUN !!
Sea Ray - Where did you find the 3-1/2 wide stripe and the 3/4 Silver? I need a few feet of 3-1/2 Black and 3/4 Gold. Thanks

Thank you, See Ray!

I have the slightly smaller 38 DA and had my stripes redone last year as per OEM.

I did contemplate other designs and was almost going to go with the way Searay does their 340 where's the stripe stops at the curve of the hull towards the bow. That could be good compromise between the two options for you too.

Hullstripes has them and they do a great job and fast
