Boston to Plymouth

Ahh yes....the third mudslide at Nancy's in Oak Bluffs.....thinking about it now!!! Can't wait for the summer to be in full swing.

I'm going to be in Constitution Marina next year and they were telling me that they were actually light for next season. My fiancee and i are hoping to meet some other fun boaters in the area!

You'll enjoy your membership there. Ask for D dock. There is a nice article about it in Off Shore Magazine, now Northeast Boating. It is operated by owners who keep their boats there and are onsite throughout the summer. Well maintained and managed. Plus, the bathrooms are the best of any that I have seen, hands down, even better than the Nantucket Boat Basin. If you see me on the boat, introduce yourself.

By the way, I have taken this trip Boston to Plymouth or Plymouth to Boston 4 times this year and never in ideal conditions. It takes one hour from the mouth of Boston Harbor to the mouth of Plymouth Harbor. My speed ranged between 22 and 30 mph.

I spoke to Sebastien and we'll most likely be on D dock. I know one of the Russo folks are over there so it should be a good time. Keep an eye out for Troubadour! (It might be bigger next year - depends what the offseason upgrade options bring!). I'll be so psyched to only have a 10 minute walk to the boat rather than having to drive to Dorchester. Yuck! The docks at Dorchester are so crappy I almost contemplate not running the bilge blower to get out of there sooner (I'd never do that I'm too - by the book).

See you in the spring. Maybe we can venture out on some trips if you are game!

The 10 min walk from Austin St is pretty nice. I was on the boat today. You'll use the boat more.

Julia,

Pretty much, like others have indicated there are a lot of factors. On a good day you
may go from Boston outer harbor to the Gurnite light in 45 minutes. Depends on the boat. As with the slog out of Boston, coming into Plymouth your going run along
browns bank to "bug light" follow the channel
in the outer harbor along the backside of plymouth beach and on into the inner harbor. Plymouth is a good point to either stop over for food, fuel, or overnight. It is also a great
demarcation point for trips to Provincetown,
Cape Cod Canal or any other point inside
Cape Cod bay. It is also a great harbor to reach fishing grounds easily. It is my number one pick of Harbor's...of course it has nothing to do with the fact that I grew up in Plymouth and my cousin is the harbormaster.

How do you get your boat from beacon hill to boston harbor...just
kidding

I stayed at Brewer's Plymouth Marine 4 times over the summer. They got to know me by name. Nice people and a great destination. One time I turned toward the harbor to be met with a dense blanket of fog. Without Radar, that was pretty interesting considering all of the shoals and boat traffic. I just followed the GPS at idle and luckily there were no yahoos flying blind at WOT.
