Our 99' 240DA has decals VERY close to the waterline. Our bottom paint comes right up to the edge of these decals, but but the waterline still extends about 1" above where the bottom paint stops (yes, this means that it's partially over the decal).

This only occurs at the REAR (last 2-3') of the boat, and is not evident on the transom (the paint there is higher due to the lack of decals). We do have a fully optioned 240, so it has everything but the grey water system, including dual batteries, fully pressurized water system, shower, pump-out head, water heater, and the larger of the two (350ci) engines that were available.

This is with 3/4 tank of fuel and a mostly full fresh-water tank.

Questions: Is this common for this year of 240? Is it because of the bad decal placement, or is there something else going on?

Bottom of the hull is in good shape, and bilge stays mostly dry except for what comes in from around the rear sprayer. She also gets up on plane just fine and hist good speed (40-42mph with two people and gear).

I can't answer regarding your specific model, but I had the same issue. I was having the bottom painted anyway this year, so I removed the lower stripe and raised the line for the bottom paint. So you are not alone.
