Well just finished the haul back from FL yesterday. Lost one set of bearings before we even got out of FL. Other than that it was an easy trip, again.

This coming weekend I have some friends riding in the PAN Mass Challenge. Saturday night they spend the night at the mass maritime academy in Bourne, then Sunday they finish up in P-Town. I'm planning on taking the boat over to greet them when they arrive.

Is it possible to get near the MMA in Bourne by boat to hook up with riders?

What about in P-town, where would you dock?

Any other nor'easters going to be in the area?

Thanks,

You could anchor right behind the maritime and I think there are a few small docks or marinas that you could pull up to.........In Ptown, my guess is there will be no dockage available (try the town marina though).....You should make mooring reservation....

Taylor Point Marina is just down the street from MMA. It may be 1/4 mile or about a 5 minute walk.

Thanks for the tips. In P-Town, would you get a mooring from the town marina or Flyers? Or would you just anchor out? Looks like SW winds can kick up that mooring field.

if you arrrive sunday grab a mooring..works well and launch is $2/pp...call ahead and reserve one to be safe....yes after 2pm sw wind kicks up and makes anchoring tough and ride home to boston tougher IMHO..:smt001

Good tip. Thanks.

Well I came over today in the snot that is out there. Did a solo run, so was too busy at the helm to get pics. Most of the ride was in 3 footers with 20-30 knot winds. However the last 3 miles coming into P-Town were bad. There were 6 footers getting tighter and tighter as you enter the outer harbor area. Got thrashed around like a cork on the sea.

I was able to get on a mooring single handed. With these S winds, there are 2 footers in the mooring field. The launch was running two men on the boat, one to drive and one to manage the tie ups to the boats and pier. Here's a pic over my bow in the mooring field after tying up. Just miserable.

Fortunately, I have some friends ashore that have a cottage and an extra room for the night. My friends completed the Pan MASS Challenge today. Congrats to those that did, what an accomplishment that was.

Chuck.....You stayed in a cottage? Shame on you? For all the work you did getting there and getting settled and you stay in a cottage? Kidding
