Hi everyone,
I live in PA and was outside plowing snow. I checked on my boat and saw pink on the snow below the outdrive. I put my finger on the intake holes and it was like a water oil mix. Not sure what's up. Any ideas would be a big help (I'm a little worried)! The boat was winterized by a dealer before covering for the winter.

Yup - AF from winterizing is just slowly leaking past the impeller. No problem. AF is slippery to the touch.

Out of curiosity, is your drive all the way up?

Yes, the drive is all the way up
FWIW - The reason I asked is that most recommend storing a boat with the drive down. The helps keep the bellows from stretching. There are some threads about this somewhere here but I always have winterized and finished by putting the drive down. If you had it done at the marina they might have left it up so you could transport it home without skeg damage.

If you store it outside you need to keep the drive down because water will get in behind the prop and freeze and crack the lower housing, my neighbor will back that up as he left his drive up on his boat and it froze and cracked.

So, if the drive is up it could catch water and freeze? Does it matter that the swim platform covers the outdrive and its covered with a tarp?

I have always left it down, winter summer. I figure the bellows ain’t extended, the gimbal ain’t in weird position, and when I fire it up the drive is where it should be.

My neighbor had his all wrapped in plastic and taped up and enough water got thru to freeze and crack his. So question is; is it worth finding out the hard way or take the 10 seconds to put the outdrive down and be safe and not worry!!
