I just bought a new searay 280 sundancer, and while I was polishing up the props, I noticed some marks that look like they could be cracks in the hub. Can anyone tell me if these marks are common, or if they are stress cracks? Do I need to get them repaired or replaced?

Thank you both. It definitely does not go all the way through, and if I look closely, it doesn't look to be cracked, however it does seem to propagate like a crack. Here is a picture that's a bit zoomed out. It is on the center of the prop, extending in from the base of the blade.

It looks like a term called a rat tail from the molding process.....usually caused when the pour is too hot and the mold sand buckles from gas trying to escape from the sand
It will be as deep as you can see it now

Bring it to the prop shop and ask there option, If anybody is going to know it would be them.

They are hair line cracks. Time to have them redone. Easy for reputable prop shop. They tend to return over time.
