are the dates out for fireworks yet?

Brick still has 2007's schedule on their website. Whatever it is, they are probably invitation only, no non-residents, and don't tell the bennies.

Just who do those idiots think pay the marinas so they can pay the insane taxes on those properties?

Regarding 2007, here's a nice quote:
The council also discussed what was once out of the question - charging concertgoers for the bus or for parking spots, or ticketing those from out of town.

well if i go, they'll have to float out and charge me admission on the boat, b/c i'll be in the middle of the river!

They'll just park the pump out boat upwind of you until you pay up.

Best regards,
Frank

Cool. Where/when is this event typically?

I only had the SeaRay two years now. . ... last year we did the TR fireworks in the blustery winds, followed by pouring rain.

Previous years, we would take the blowboat out and just out in the middle of the bay watching fireworks from everyone around. There has been lots more private activity the last few years.

metedeconk river, off of windward beach park. usually 4 (?) concerts per year and fireworks after 2 of the 4 concerts (used to be 3 of 4). you cant hear the music but the fireworks are pretty good. they are on thursday nights and the one around the 4th of july will probably be either th july3 or th july10.

music is usually a 50s conglomeration one time, folksy stuff another time, etc. never been to the concert by car/bus.

Windward beach is not too far of a walk from the Marina. The crowds are dense, however.

Best regards,
Frank

not really interested in the music or crowds. fireworks are cool and there's no better seat than on the boat!

Actually the marina's nicer. Front row seat right on the dock and don't have to worry about playing bumper boats afterwards with fools with plenty of "beer smarts" who think that they can run at 30 kts because they have a portable GPS. I normally like boating at night, but I know how to use my radar. I prefer not to be in a crowd at night.

Best regards,
Frank

that's true, but i just sit out there for another hour after it's all over with. as soon as the last mortar explodes, all the yahoos are powering up and bailing at full tilt. it's kinda fun to watch actually (bad boating to me is always amusing). then when it calms down, i make my 1/4 mile trip back through the sticks to the marina at idle speed.
