My wife really likes the idea of the rear galley in the 47 Sedan Bridge because it eliminates the constant up/down stairs. Are there other layouts that had the galley on the same level that are in the 40-50 foot range?

Yes I know the bridge is up/down stairs but there's a different logic going on here that I'm not seeing so if you guys can just help me out it would be great. Thx, Ken

We had everything on one level in our 550 Sedan Bridge--galley, lower helm, dining area, entertainment area, etc.

I can't imagine trying to cook on an upper galley with a rolling sea like this:

and those waves were relatively mild.

To clarify, we are looking for the galley and dining/living area to all be on one level. She likes the 47 because the galley is right there at the door and a rear hatch opens to the rear deck creating a big open space on those cooler Florida days.

You don’t realize it but on a 47 you’re constantly stepping up and down those stairs from the salon into the galley and then to go down below. It does not look like it but there are a lot of stairs on a 47.

Reasonably sure the 47DB is the only SeaRay with an aft galley. We loved the galley at the rear of the main floor with the window.

I think I something similar on a Cruisers express boat a couple of years ago. Prestige has that on its 60ish model.

Don't see it a lot, but occasionally.

There was an older 40 DB that had the galley up but to starboard and no separate window as the slider was there. The 47 and that older 40 DB are the Admirals favorites.

The Fly 460 and 520's are aft galley. They were part of the last gasp of the larger Sea Rays so not sure many were produced. I looked at a Fly 460 last year. Liked the interior a lot but the salon is so wide I felt like getting up to the foredeck would be too perilous underway due to the narrow side-decks.

2004 Meridian 411 is in the middle and up a step. It looks like the 2013 Meridian 391 is in the middle but on the same level.

We're trying to avoid a Galley down situation. Some are 4 steps...

I know they are family but curious of any thoughts on the Meridians?

The 480DB has the galley on the same level. The 400DB in the 3 state room layout also has the galley up on the salon level.
