I have a 280da 2004 and am looking for the two rubber bumpers that stop the lid over the ladder from slamming down. Has anyone replaced these?

I had the same problem on my 280. I tried a few different things off from Amazon but I was not able to find anything that would last even one year. Over time the lid will rub a line into the base of the swim platform.

In some years (later years, I believe), yes they were magnets. Earlier versions were a rubber cup and peg. Yes, Amazon will be hit or miss - quality is always suspect. Just go to your dealer - they're not expensive, at all. And that way you know you are getting a quality product that will last.

I have managed to find various bumpers at the local RV dealers. And at Lowes. I don't think I have ever found anything as such at any marine dealers I have been to.
