Bunker carpet

Replaced the original carpet on a 1987 Caulkins trailer in 1997 with Astro turf carpet from Menard's. (Midwest Home Center Chain) It was still on the trailer last summer when I sold the boat. With the exception of a small wear spot on each bunk it was as good as new. Monel staples are a must.

Indoor/outdoor carpet from Lowe's works great.

Another thought is to use plastic bunk slicks. You'd never have to replace the carpet again, there's never a chance of having sand/grit in the carpet to scratch the hull, and it makes loading/unloading MUCH easier. Personally, I'll never go back to carpet.

Is there a specific brand you would recommend?

Casey, it somewhat depends on the size of your bunks. I had 2x6 bunks on my 260DA (with bottom paint, 230CC) and I used the Tie Down Engineering brand since the slicks were 3-sided, meaning they wrapped over the sides of the bunk and were fastened that way (through the sides). I don't really think that fastening through the top is that big of a deal, but you should make sure to check the screws after each launch to makes sure none have popped/backed out (although I think this would be extremely rare). But that "check" should be done every time someone launches, regardless.
