Buying and selling private

I had a conversation with my wife tonight actually.. about coming down to the narrows Oct 24th for the weekend…she was all in….we need to organize a CSR blue crab feast

Well this was a sad day….. the new owner wanted the name ….. put it in the offer and I pushed back ….. he eventually said okay….. and I peeled it off today….. a bit naked right now

Going to miss this boat….. it owes me nothing

Couldn't you and he just document the boat with different home ports? Lots of boats have the same name.

It was @Jaybeaux idea…. Don’t blame me
I've got nothing going on that weekend.
Our anniversary is actually Thursday the 23rd so parlaying that into the weekend will be easy.

Giddy up guy's.
I'm sure there's a few more that Orlando @Skybolt could turn us onto.

To hell with Fishermans (nice restaurant though) - The Crab Deck opens next weekend! That place is a just a cool hangout on Friday nights, not crazy like Red Eyes is, but enough people to have a few laughs with. A place that puts newspaper down on picnic table(s) by the water to bang away at a bucket of crabs on. Same owners as Fishermans.

The Narrows is a more upscale place for fine dinning, fantastic tuna dish(s). As well as the Dock House across the channel from Red Eye's. Both are more upscale then the rest.

Oh and Big Owls Tiki bar is the perfect happy hour place, a bar out on a dock with music. That's opening soon as well. Right next to The Narrows.

Go to Big Owls and then the Crab deck a few doors down. A perfect Friday afternoon/night out, nice and easy style and no driving. All walkable from SH marina.

Hell just saw a new fishing boat (commercial) with my boat name and same home port.
Go figure. The coasties don't care any more. I mean how many boat's have their home town instead of a valid port.

It’s going well… I figured out the tax evasion ….. my boat listed on Saturday and was sold yesterday for asking …sight unseen….actually it didn’t even make it to the internet…. Broker knew a guy…. That was surprising. Almost done on the new one
Congrats on the quick sale! I'm looking and my broker sent me an email with the listing and before lunch text me and said it had sold already.

Hi Jeff, it's been a minute since I've seen a post of yours. You're looking to move up to a 420? Love those mid-2000s 40'+ DAs.
Hey Tim….its been awhile. We had a bigger slip open on our dock, so we moved to the slip giving us the option of moving to a bigger boat. Last summer a guy on our dock said if I ever sold my boat he wanted a chance to buy it. So around July 4th we talked, I shot him a price and we sold our boat. The search for a clean, well maintained boat has been tougher than I anticipated.

Ive been looking at boats all winter and actually looked at 2 other 420s. Both were "Current owner - Open checkbook maintenance". Both were disasters in the engine room and had the 480CE engines. 1 had both rebuilt. I knew Blueone's was a gem, its just a month before I was ready to jump. I think we can all agree from the pictures, that boat is the gold standard for a used boat. Could eat off the bilge.

Ive had four brokers now send me that listing... Uhm its sold...

Well there goes the neighborhood ... And this was a nice quiet place to hangout too.

All kidding aside, that would be awesome!

Well that's great and sucks at the same time. I hope you find something soon. I'll quit looking for your 360 in Chateau cove though. A lot of the used boats I have looked at are COVID boats. They did not understand the cost and effort needed to maintain a boat. I am pretty sure I will buy new next year. Good luck!

Hopefully you got a break on the commission. A buddy of mine sold last year. The broker had a buyer lined up before he signed the broker contract. Sold in one day. He negotiated a lower commission after the fact.

My wife has a conference in Philly the 18-23 of October. It would be great to get together there. It is a fun place.

@Blueone Are you bringing the boat down or just a car trip?

@Skybolt My wife and I will definately be there. The only question is whether or not we arrive by boat or car given her conference. At the moment I don't know if I can sell a two day trip solo to the narrows as she drives down from Philly! We'll see.

If we do come by car, can you recommend a place to stay?

We've stayed at a bunch of them. Like boats, they all have their +'s and -'s.

I would still like to hear Orlando's input.
