Hello, I have an issue with the cabin door on my 2004 260 Sundancer. The two fittings that ride in the upper track and attached to the bottom of the sliding door are no longer attached to the door. I need to reattach them as the door as no support now on the upper portion. My concern is that I need to remove the helm to get access. I have thought about simply glueing the fittings in place on the track to support the door when it is closed but not a great solution. Any experience with this out there. Thanks very much!

Not sure I can explain this so you will understand, but I replaced those 2-blocks on a 2006 260DA. There are 2-screws that go through the top edge of the door that hold each block in place. I measured the distance from the left side of the door track to where the screw holes were on the right end of the door. Then I cut a piece of 1”x1” stock that length that would lay in the track and hold the block at that distance from the left side. Then carefully close the door on top of the white block until the screw holes line up and attach it. Repeat for the left hand block by cutting the stock shorter. Hope this makes sense.

Thanks very much for replying. It would be great to get this fixed without having to remove the door/hatch. I’ve read through you post a few times and it almost sounds like you went through the the top of the door into the block but I am not sure. When I look at the block it looks like the fasteners would come up through the bottom of the block. If you could give me a little bit to go on I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

The fasteners, screws, went through the top of the door and into the block. The key is to get the blocks positioned under the holes in the top edge of the door and put the screws in. I had new blocks so the screws grabbed really good.

Well it is good to know I was somewhat following. On the top of the sliding door/hatch I don’t see any place for the screws so did you drill new holes? Thanks very much.

Mine already had holes in the front edge.

I was at my boat a few days ago and did not see any holes on the top of the door. I know that there are holes on the underside of the door but that would mean taking the door out. Perhaps the 2006 is different than the 2004?
