Can anyone help me with a source to get the cabin door seal that fit into the dovetail grooves on a 1996 50ft. Sundancer? The manuals do not show them, the manufacturer of the doors says they are obsolete and cannot help. I have posted the question to "Ask a SeaRay Employee" and have not heard anything there either. There must be a source for them. Anyone??

Mick, You have a great boat. Lost a little bit of mine as well. Going to try and make it some how???????????????? JC

Endless Seas gave me some info on a lead to get them . It is an item available from Clarks Landing of Maryland. I googled them and found them Will be calling them tommorow. Thanks again Tommy!

Mick, Would you please post what you find out? Thank You, JC

Please post the scoop.... I have been begging Spartech (non marine division) but they have not yet responded.....

I just got the samples in today but have not opened them yet. I will let everyone know tommorow night if its the right stuff. I am hoping so. Been searching for the seal material for a while now.

The sample was close but will not work. Curtis from Clarks Marine in Chester MD. is looking further into it and hope he comes up with another posssibility. The seals for my boat are only about 3/8" wide plus the tee part that fits in the dovetail in the door. The sample he had sent was about 1/2" wide and the tee part was about 1/8" away from the seal (the 1/2" part). I will keep you posted.

Just an update on the door seals. Curtis from Clarks Landing is still working on a seal that will hopefully work. he is sending another sample that isn a plain "D" style that has double sided tape on the flat side. He says its about 7/16" wide. This may work for me even if it does not slide into the dovetail groove as the OEM did. I'll keep for the people that were interested.

Nehalennia, Thanks for that info but I finally found the right seal that is made for the door. For others who need it: Teak Isle company in Florida has the seals. The part number is 076-3133 and it is sold at $1.00 per foot. The phone number is 407-656-8885 and I had ordered from Myra. The seal is not on the website but they do have a bunch of neat stuff. Thanks again for everyone's help.

Thank you for the scoop !!!

Even though he probably won't see this I would like to send thanks to Curtis at Clarks Landing in Chester MD. for taking the time to research the seals for me. Endless Seas gave me his name as a contact. He could not help me out with the door seals but did send samples and did a lot of checking around to find them for me. He did not charge me for the samples (4 feet long) and went the extra mile to find them when he could have just taken the easy route like most do and just say " I cannot help you with that if it's not in the catalogue" . He did give me the name and phone number to contact the company that had them. Nice to know that there are still a few good ones out there!

This might have been the part for your boat... It turned out not to be the part for mine. So $30 for this seal that is wrong and now another $45 for the right seal for my boat.... Oh well, it's a cheap boat buck in the big scheme of things and I have the proper replacement now....

The correct part number is 076-3159, this is a white vinyl round seal about 1/4" diameter, with a white foam core and is on a nylon "T" track. The dimensions are about 3/8" high with a track groove about 3/16" wide.

See my ad in classifieds for a seal that may be correct for your boat.
