Calling all 360 DA owners

I have read that the Fire TV box is superior to the Fire stick. Evidently the EMF field around the TV interferes with the WiFi reception

I saw Kodi, and heard somewhere they are looking to take it down so I HOPE they come in before that happens. Thanks for the list I'll make sure I install the others too. I can't wait to mess with it. Yeah I'm so sick of all the subscriptions too. My Direct TV account for the boat is about to kick back on from is seasonal suspend and that's another $25 a month and we watch probably 2-3 hrs a week on the boat. Until college football season. I'm looking at picking up an ATT hot spot now that they are unlimited but I'll wait till were actually in the water lol!

John, if you have good wifi at your favorite spots you should look into a sling box. Though we have the KVH we roll with quite a few backup options (i.e firestick w/Kodi, apple tv as well as sling player app on my ipad). I install a sling player box at home and I can access all my channels via the app as long as I have some form of data service. Its not really necessary now with all the options the cable providers give you these days to stream content but I made the investment years ago an it a nice to have.

Hi Dean,

Happy New Year! I have a slingbox that I decommissioned last year because we use Tivo and the new mini's they came out with then they had a deal on the Tivo "stream" with the package and it works pretty good. I'll re-visit it the two of them as soon as we get back in the water to see which works best.

Ill post some additional pictures of the tv panel when I head back to the boat in a few weeks. I thought about the piano hinge, but the alignment was to much trouble for me. I wanted it flush with the front face of the cabinet, and I didn't want to see any of the hinge thru the slot. Personal choice.

As for a 22" TV, I can't find one either. When I head back I will also see if a 24" fits over the galley. I doubt it.

BTW, how did you make out with your KVH install. Is it up and running?

its 1/2 in now. Hopefully I'll have it done in the next week or so, work workload dependent. Man it looks pretty sweet for sure, I should have just swapped it out the last time. But pricing was higher last time so I saved some there.

It appears that a 24" would be too wide. I am thinking about moving my 22" from the cockpit, to the galley tv and putting a new 24 in the cockpit....and then maybe a 19" in the stateroom.

I would like to see your hinges. What kind of board did you use? Is it 1/2" thick?

Panel is 3/4" thick.
I left 1/8" gap around the top, bottom and sides. I used an 1/8" shim to help set the gap along the top during install.
sorry I don't have more pictures. I'll post as soon as I get back out there.

Cant wait to see pics of it, sounds like its done right

Fire TV has a sling app that comes with it by default. You still need to sign up and pay but this way you are not limited....just a thought.

So I decided to put my toe in the water, so to speak. Put an offer in on an '03 360. Now the real nail biting begins!

In the mean time, gonna read thru all 90 pages again. I also want to find that thread again on the raw water impeller swap on the 8.1s.

I'll cross my fingers for you, she has been a great model for us for sure. Just big enough but also small enough. Let us know how it goes,

I can not tell you how many times someone has approached me and said my 360 seems to be the perfect size boat. Not too big and not too little. I can tell you I spent most of last summer living aboard my 360 quite comfortably. The only draw back is that 2 foot-itis no longer applies. When it is time to upgrade the 360 is just big enough to wet my appetite for a much larger boat. I would suspect my next leap will be to a 44....lord help me the insanity continues.....

Anyone using a 19" tv in the stateroom? If so, have any pics? I'm thinking about putting a 19" in the stateroom since 22" tv's seem to be harder to find now.

I was wondering if anyone knew if the 360 was a cored bottom boat?

What I've heard and read is no, it's not cored. They were built at their Merritt Island facility and were their smallest "yachts" that they built. Upgraded hardware and no cored hull. Now as for the gunwales, I've heard conflicting stories whether or not they are cored.

Thanks for the welcome guys, hope it's not too premature. But if for some reason this deal falls thru, I'd just look at another 360! It does look like the perfect fit for my current boating "needs"
