MY neighbor and I have rebuilt the carb. on the boat twice now and we can not get the engine to idle at 800 rpm. It makes it difficult to trailer and un-trailer the boat, or to dock the boat. We are thinking possibly the bushing on the rod that opens the main valves on the carb that the throttle cable attaches too may be worn out. Not 100% sure. Here are some pictures of the throttle cable which to notate is broken and we had to modify it to make it work. Any help would be appreciative. Also when starting we have to give pump the throttle once to start. Occasionly a few times. Spark Plugs and wires and distributor cap are newer.
