In a matter of days my family will be taking delivery of a 2023 SDX 290 OB with dual 250s and I've become concerned with the realization that you're likely not supposed to tube off of the sports tower and the boat comes with / has no option for a ski pole. This has left me with the only apparent option being to get a ski harness that I'm incredibly worried about getting caught in the propellers. Any tips / advice on how / if I will be able to tube off the 290 when it comes? Thank you!

I guess an SPX would be ideal for pulling skiers and tubes. Can you make the Sundeck work with some kind of bridle off the rear cleats?

I almost got a 250 SDX -- it was my second choice. The SDX are great boats. Congrats on yours !!!

Get a harness that will attach to the rear tie downs. Make sure it floats or has a floating bouy. You'll be fine with the props.

A bridle/harness at the stern with a floating tow line will be you best approach, that and a safe boating course for all family members involved. Make a family outing of it, 1 night a week or whatever the course requires.
Definitely do the in person as apposed to the online stuff.

Use the floating bridal and floating tow rope and you will be fine. Agree with others that a family training about the outboards and props is critical. No issues to use that boat for tubing, just be a responsible captain and alert passengers of the safety concerns.

FWIW I have very much enjoyed the Airhead brand of lines/harness/toys. Their quick disconnect system is nice, saves a lotta time. Quality seems spot on.

Amazon has everything you need. I suspect a 16 foot harness would be more than enough. I run the 12 foot off the back of my dinghy.

The bridles that attach to your stern eyes have been used for decades and decades. They float. They work as advertised. Just watch when you reverse.

You MIGHT need a tow rope that has an inflatable ball in the middle - depends on where the tow rope is compared to your wake.

Also... check out Turbo Swing. It's fantastic.
