My boat is 2010 Sundancer 310. I turned the key to discharge position and heard something working, but nothing was dumped out. See my system below:

I searched whole forum. Somebody mentioned there is a Y valve to switch dock pump and discharge pump, but I cannot find it on my boat. Somebody also mentioned that it may be caused by reversed duckbill. I am not sure if it's the reason.
If you have same system, can you tell me except open seacock and turn key to discharge, what else I need to do? How long do you need to pump out half of tank?
I really appreciate your help.

We have the same issue/same panel. New this year to a 97 280 SS no instructions came with the boat. Head works fine but with the boat on trailer and the seacock open nothing going into the bucket on the ground. I have held the key for over a minute ...stopped not wanting to damage anything.

I have essentially the same system... as you hold the key all the way over you should hear the macerator pump. Factory installed systems will have an interlock switch at the seacock that will not allow the pump to run if the valve is closed. This system should empty the tank within 2-3 minutes.

I didn't find any macerator in my bilge. There is only a discharge pump. See photo https://www.dropbox.com/s/an7tad5r8h24z4i/DSC_0015.JPG.
Sorry I cannot post the photo here since system says it exceeds my quota. Not sure what that means.
I do hear something working hard when turning the key, but nothing really happens.
Sea Ray's manual sucks, totally useless.

I had a similar problem in my 1994 370. I do not have a y-valve either, just a ball valve on the discharge seacock. Turned out to be duckbills that had been reversed, with one sucked back into the pump. Apparently, someone had used a dockside pump out, with the seacock open and pulled seawater back through the duckbills. I installed new duckbills and it works fine now.

No answer for your discharge issue since they are illegal on the Great Lakes, but the attachment quota is because you are not a financial supporter of this site (see link in the top of the page for site support). As an alternative, you can embed a link to an external photo (photobucket works well)that actually appears in the post using the insert image button but then uncheck the box that says "retrieve remote file and reference locally". Then it does not need to use space in CSR. But it would be nice if you support this site since it is one of the best boater user groups you will find anywhere.

Do you mean I need to replace the 2 items with number 10 in photo http://seacoastservices.com/product_images/uploaded_images/t-series-diagram.gif? Thanks.

Agreed!!!! :smt038 Agree to the point of foregoing my Pacific Yachting subscription next year in favor of diverting that money to CSR. Now THAT's money well spent.

Just a few comments;
* Macerator pumps don't 'lift' well so if it's mounted above the tank, it will start pumping more easily with a higher level in the tank.
* If the tank is overfilled and floods up the vent line and it has a carbon filter, if they get wet, they plug. When they plug, no air can get back in the tank when you're trying to pump it out.
* If the macerator pump is wye'd with the deck pump out, it's important the deck cap is sealed or it'll be a vacuum leak.
Hope this helps.
