I have a 1999 370AC with 7.4 Horizon MPI engines. There is a leak in the Stbd side tranny that will be looked at by my mechanic in a few days and there will be a question as to what model velvet drive transmission I have and unfortunately there is no plate on the outside of the transmission box. Are there any other 1999 370AC owners out there with gas 7.4 Horizon MPI engines that might be able to tell me what there velvet drive model is?

Your help is greatly appreciated!

Look, look and look again. It took me several weeks to find my tags, basically by accident. One was under the little step used to climb into the engine room. The other was way on the outboard side of the transmission. I really had to look for them.

All of the ID plates on my recently acquired 270 were either blank from the factory (engine) or missing in action from the passage of time (outdrive). I sent an email to Sea Ray with my HIN, and inquired if they could reference an archived 'build sheet' and supply me with my missing model/serial numbers so I could order the correct parts without having to play hit and miss.
Took a couple of weeks, but they did in fact send me back an email with ALL the numbers I had requested.
Actually . . . I found that to be quite refreshing.

Sometimes just having the engine serial number will help match up what model transmission may have came with the engine when searched and/or call any Merc parts dealer for look up.

I thought of contacting Sea Ray but figured it would be a dead end!
Thanks for the information. Good news!
