I removed CF map card from C80 on my Searay 34 2004 and put it back using "remove card" option from C80 menu and it doesn't show detail map any more. I repeated the card removal on my spare C80 which was not connected to the power and has its own CF card and put the card back and after connecting to power it does't show map detail either. Two different C80 and two cards suffered the same problem? Any suggestions appreciated.

I was having some issues when I moved a CF from a C120 to an E120. I had to do the following once upon a time to this very CF card and C120 while it was still on the boat. the hardest part will be finding a CF reader. This is from the Raymarine forum.

A corrupted chartcat.xml file may also prevent Navionics cartography from being used by an A/C/E-Series Classic MFD, GPM400, or C/E-Series Widescreen MFD. These MFDs each create a file named chartcat.xml and store this file in the root level directory of the chart card. This file is used to speed access to data stored on the chart card. Should the chartcat.xml file have become corrupted, then it will not be possible to view cartography from the chart card. However, it is often possible to restore the chart card to an operational state by using a PC to delete the chartcat.xml file from the CF memory card.

IMPORTANT - DO NOT CUT/DELETE ANY FILES OR FOLDERS OTHER THAN CHARTCAT.XML FROM A NAVIONICS CHART CARD. DELETION OF NAVIONICS DATA FROM THIS CHART CARD MAY ADVERSELY IMPACT THE PERFORMANCE OF THE CHART CARD AND WILL VOID ANY WARRANTIES FROM NAVIONICS.

When the Navionics chart card is next used with the MFD, it will be determined that the chart card does not contain a chartcat.xml file and a new chartcat.xml file will be created and saved to card.

Another thing I tried that seemed to work was to perform a hard reset on the E120. If you don't have data that you need to save (waypoints etc), you can try that.
Turn the C80 off. Press and hold the leftmost softkey, and continue to hold it while powering up. When the factory reset is complete, the unit will beep. You can release the soft key, and it will boot up. I do not insert or remove the CF card with the power on, and if I know I'm going to pull it, I use the menu function to remove the card before I shut it down. Very early USB sticks had similar issues.
Good Luck. Navionics CF driven cards are becoming hen's teeth. I bought my E120 for 50 bucks from an electronics installer. I'm using its screen to fix the burned out one on the C120.

Great feedback, I appreciate greatly for taking your time.

I did factory rest using menu option on my C80 and the map shows up each time for a split second and then disappears. I was unable to perform hard boot using a soft button next to the on/off, it doesn't boot (should I hold this button when unit in powered on or shot down?). In any case it seams the map is still on the SF card, maybe corrupted or simply the chartcat.xml file should be deleted. However, if the same problem occurs on both cards and both C80 units I think it is the second reason.

I am in Ixtapa, Mexico and fortunately it was easy to buy CF card reader on Steren site and it is on its way by mail. I will share my feedback once the reader was delivered and I was able to see the disk content.

I will say that it is an unstable situation. I factory reset by holding the left most soft key at the bottom, while the unit is off, and I don't let go of that key until the screen tells me, and I get a beep from the until that it has done a factory reset. If that's not happening, I can't comment further. Mine is a C120 and an E120.
