The original Clarion stereo system in my 1999 290 Sundancer works well except for the additional 6 - cd changer which can only generate an error signal when selected. ( The manual helpfully says "return untit for servicing".

Can anyone advise whether it is worth trying to intall another unit, if I can get one.
Should I cut my losses and go for a new system?

Mike,
I have a Clarion DC625 without a magazine that works just fine. Is yours a DC625? Has cable and mounts.

Hi Mike,

I have one that I just removed it is Clarion 635 from our 1999 Sundancer. Just replaced it and it works fine, the radio it connected to Clarion M5470.

If it does not eject or open, you might have a stuck or incorrectly inserted cd. One of our grandchildren put a cd in the magazine wrong and it got stuck, would not eject, or play. I don't recall if it showed an error code or not but it's been a while ago. We had to remove the cd changer to get the cd out. What a job! But it worked again. We have since changed out our whole system for newer stuff so we could have an mp3 player connection.
