Clean engine room

Some questions are better presented with pictures, so everybody willing to help, is able to.
This would be one of those questions.;)

I know this may sound silly, but I read this somewhere and actually used it on my bilge and it really worked well at cutting grass and grime.

My previous boat I had the engine out so that is only way I know of perfection.
There are those how believe a lower pressure power washer is good but I did not like the idea around hoses and wires.
Totally Awsome worked really well for me.

From An article I read:

  • Super Clean degreaser with rags to clean everything . No spraying, one rag with degreaser and one to wipe it clean after. Spray on the rag only. May need a good 30-40 rags. A 50/50 mix of super clean in a sprayer bottle May do.
  • May need shop vac for water in bilge and a shirhold yellow brush for the bilge floor
  • A dewalt battery blower can help dry areas that are still wet at the end
  • As needed spray some areas and use a detailing brush. Brush can be cleaned with degreaser later
  • Super clean May do the trick, but rust aid may be needed if an area is too rusty on the bilge.
  • Coat everything with 303 aerospace protectant - same thing. Spray the rags and coat all surfaces. Use another rag to wipe it off.
  • Replace oil absorbent rags with clean ones
  • Spray engine metals with quick silver corrosion guard
