Cleaning the "mascara" marks off fiberglass.

@Creekwood . Did you spray entire canvas with 303. And what 303 did you use , I have 303 that I use on my vinyl inside the boat thank you
It’s the 303 Fabric Guard Protectant, not the one for vinyl. They are very different. Do NOT get the 303 on the isinglass clear panels. It will ruin it after about a month. It will start to yellow and then will crack. So you need to be very careful around the seams that hold the isinglass in and don’t let it soak into those parts.

The cleaner I used is this: Others are probably OK too, but this was great.

On the 330DA I used to use a combnation of bleach, woolite and something else I think. Do folks still use that?

It doesn't matter how clean you get your canvas, by this time in the year it has all of the crap from the rain in it and it's back in your canvas. I use a little bleach, dawn and let dry. Then spray it with the water repellant. I do this yearly and still get the black streaks.

I wash the boat with carnauba boat soap (Mother's or McGuire's) and still need to clean the streaks. The black streak remover also removes the wax, so it's just easier to use cleaner wax. I use that cleaner wax as I use to get the diesel soot off of the transom from time to time.

I've been using the Starbrite Black Streak Remover with great success and according to the label, it will not remove wax.

Smoove Bubble Gum. Takes no time at time at all.

I struggle with these streak remover products claiming they will not remove wax/polish. I have never personally tested the claim, and not sure how I would other than "eyeball" it and or "spray water on it". Unless there is a way to measure the thickness of the was/polish/sealant before and after the application. Curious to hear what others think.

It's on the internet so it must be true :)
All kidding aside I cannot confirm whether it does or does not remove the wax but the area I clean with the Black Streak Remover does not look noticeably different than adjacent areas where it is not used. That being said I tend to use the cleaner most of the time but will use a cleaner wax to remove the streaks periodically, probably about once a month.
