CO Detector "Maintainance"

Jut realized that the CO detector in my cabin is 15 years old. Does anyone know how many years these actually last before they are not effective? Most home detectors last 5 years, so I may be way overdue to replace it.

Now they they have a built in end of life timer and alarm, goes off after 8 or 9 years. Bunch of b.s.

I think most have a test button...If it tests correctly then I would think it was ok...

You could always put it near your tailpipe and see if you get a reading...

Most last 5 years. A 15 year old CO detector is a paper weight. Buy new ones.
