1994 Sea Ray 400 Express, 7.4 gas engines with a Quicksilver 7.5KW genny-- I don't see a CO detector anywhere in the main cabin? The only one I can find is in the forward bedroom, and it looks like an original (old) Xintex. It has a green light constantly on so it does have power. There is a "CO MONITOR" button on the power distribution panel, but nothing happens anywhere in the boat when I push it.

Question 1) Am I right in assuming that forward bedroom CO detector should sound off when I push the button on the distribution panel, and by NOT sounding off, indicates that detector is bad?

Question 2) I know I can just find a good 120v replacement and put new ones up....but does the CO MONITOR button mean I need a special one with additional wiring if I want to keep that button functionality? Anyone have any experience replacing their CO detectors with a unit that kept everything close to original, or a certain detector to look at/stay away from? I'm definitely looking for marine since they are programmed differently to account for spikes in CO that naturally occur in an enclosed marine environment, not sounding the alarm at every little CO spike they detect like a home detector would.

Question 3) Does anyone know if there was originally another CO detector somewhere in the main cabin, and if so, where? Hopefully if someone removed one from there they didn't cut or remove wiring.
