Cockpit Carpet replacement

I am looking to replace my cockpit carpet and there are two issues that I need to address and wonder if anyone has solved these problems.

1.) Rubber backing degrades over time and makes a big mess. I am wndering if the ribbed backing that Snapin offers sovles this problem?

2. ) Canvas binding gets dirty quickly. I am wondering if any one has tried a darker colored binding and if it eliminated this problem.

Any suggestions or input is most welcomed.

My experience with the rubber backing was the same as your's. Most carpet vendors have an upgraded product that has a tough clear coating for backing that does not break down. Our carpet is grey with a black edging. It is a high density cut pile that is easy to maintain.
