hi all

due to summer 2015 failing to arrive in Ireland ive been thinking about buying a completely enclosed cover for my sea ray 185... seems it sold in individual sections... convertible top, side curtains and aft etc is this correct?

iv checked around here in Ireland and the uk and cant seem to find a supplier... so I think I will have to important from the usa... anyone know of a supplier?

is it something ill be able to fit myself? I believe I may have to drill the windsheild frame to add snap ons erc

I have a 2008 sea ray 185... with no tower or bimini top just the standard boat.

any help much appreciated

Check Great Lakes Boat Top (greatlakesboattop.com), they make the canvas for Searay and you can buy direct from them.

Just to follow up on this thread.... while out boating last week i came across a boat which had a cover which was similar to what i was looking for... see the attached photos.

Its manufactured and fitted by a local company here in ireland... i spoke to the boat owner before he left the dock and he told me its invaluable to him due to changing weather conditions we get here in ireland. It was a nice sunny day and he managed to fold it right down in a matter of seconds.
I contacted the supplier and he quoted me a price of 1600 - 1700 euro for something similar to that in the pics.
Just a few observations i made:

* There was no aft window... id really want a rear window for navigation and docking.

* Without any cover and sitting in the captain seat (i.e. without the bolster) i often find my visibility restricted in the 185... especially for docking etc. So i always use the flip up bolster. Im thinking i'd need clear windows in the front also to cater for this. This would increase the over height of the cover some what... however i dont want to end up with a monstrosity of a cover.

Now you will think im crazy... i got thinking about something else....

With a complete enclosure such as this i was playing with the idea of overnighting every once in a while in my boat... e.g. over night ever second night using hotels on the other nights.

Popping the two front seat off their pedestals laying them flat on the floor, then using a simply wooden frame easy to dismantle and store in the ski locker... this frame would run from the aft seat supported by the two front pedestals. I've measured this and id fit a double air bed on such a frame no problem in this area.

I know a cuddy is what i should have bought... but have i lost it... my wife is starting to think so?
