Continuous beep until engine starts

I'm hearing a new sound from my boat and need some help to figure out what it means. It's a continuous beep that starts when you turn the key one notch to the right, and keeps going until you start the engine. As soon as the engine starts, the beep stops. Sometimes the beep is loud, other times it's feint (i.e. more muted, I'd say a 10th of the volume). I bought the boat a few weeks ago and the beep just started yesterday. Ever since then, this behavior has been happening every time I turn on the boat.

I checked my stern drive gear lube level (normal), engine oil level (normal), engine temperature (not warm at all as the engine hasn't even started running), etc.

I'm trying to figure out what location and color wire all the senders are so I can try unplugging them one at a time to isolate which one is causing the beep. I know where to find the thermostat alarm sender, not the others. Would the connectors all be the same style as the thermostat sender & alarm pictured below, and would they each be just a single wire?

Alternatively, if this continuous beep is normal behavior (I'm seeing conflicting information on the internet about that), is it possible the buzzer itself was marginal and just started working?

One thing I did notice, right before this started my whole ignition key assembly swiveled slightly while I was turning they key. It sometimes becomes loose from the bezel. I tried rotating slightly left and right, and inspected to make sure there’s not some short that’s happening in the assembly, then tightened it back up, with no effect.

Also note this is different from the usual "3 beeps" that I am used to hearing when I first turn on the key on the boat (which I believe come from the depth gauge alarm as an indicator it's working?).

Finally, if I turn the key counterclockwise (to the Accessory position?), the continuous beep is NOT emitted (but the usual 3 beeps of the depth gauge powering on do sound).

The boat is a 2015 Sea Ray 190 Sport with hull serial number SERV1192F415, hull # 3042, stock # 3056. The engine is a 2014 MerCruiser 4.3L TKS carbureted (190 HP) with serial # 2A437829. Engine shop manual is Service Manual #32 (unfortunately I don’t have a copy).

Grateful for any help.

Wow that was a lot of words and a pic…. Good job

when you turn the key the continuous painful alarm you hear is to tell you the alarm works. When the engine starts and you get oil pressure it’s satisfied and the alarm shuts off

it was broken before…. if you never heard the alarm

Thanks all. It's a normal beep, and the buzzer simply wasn't working when I first bought the boat. It's marginal and changes volume when you physically squeeze it slightly. Will replace it as soon as I can identify the part # (for some reason the Mercruiser phone numbers haven't been working the last couple days)
