Ok Gary, how much gas do you think I could save if I could surf that wake with my 240SD?:grin:

Have you actually done this? I did it not on purpose just ended up behind a slow (large) boat throwing a HUGE wake think big as or bigger then garys I was trying to go around him (don't remember the type of boat wanna say a large pursit or soemthing)

Anyways I ended up on top of his wake which was pretty cool basically surfing it the scary part was coming off and at one point being on the edge of it not sure how I did it but imagin standing behind the wheel of your boat but with a extreme list to starboard and then a firehose worth of water streaming into your face saltwater I'll add. At that point it was no longer fun and got on the scary side.

Don't think I'll do that again.

Everything looks bigger in a picture...
I think Nehalenia has the best looking pic though!
Festivus yours are cool too. I like the nod to Old Glory!

I surfed my 340 in the wake of a 420 for 50 miles from PCB to Destin, Fl. We were going on a weekend trip together. He was running 25 knots, which makes my engines thirsty. I found I could easily keep up with a normal fuel flow by riding downhill on his wake. The problem was that I could not maintain a constant position. When riding nicely on the wake, I would catch up to him. If I didn't, I would ride from one wave to another toward the center of his wake. It saved a lot of gas over powering along at 29 mph.

Cool!

Pic of wake while cruising, and one hitting it with the board...

Yep, I did it behind a 48DA on the TN river once. Like John said it took a constant effort to keep MS Judy in the sweet spot. When I wanted to bug out I cut back between his wake then backed off.

Not as impressive as the big guys but I thought pretty good for a small boat. Cruising Charleston Harbor with Ravenel Bridge in background. And not a sailboat in sight!

I have a really cool wake video...how do I post that?

Sign on to photo bucket dot com, post it there, then copy the 4th link down in the list to that video and paste it here.

This one is cruising through the keys last winter. Yup, that's a bike strapped to the swim platform. Nope, it's not a good idea. :smt089
