Twin 4.3 Liter Mercruiser w/Alpha One Gen 2 Drives
I have a 2004 Sea Ray 280 Sundancer with twin 4.3L Mercruisers Alpha One Gen 2 out drives. I replaced the impellers two years ago and now it’s time again. Someone mentioned that the port impeller should go in counter clockwise because it’s counter rotating. I’ve always put them in clockwise on both out drives. Looking for input thanks.

They rotate the same way, the CR is done in the gears in the lower. Same reason you have to put the counter unit in reverse to pull the drive versus forward on the standard rotation
