We are thinking...just thinking... to rent out our home in The Villages during the Winter 'high season' (not an investment property...but our HOME) to a 'Northern Boater' wishing to escape to FL. Where would WE go? On our SeaRay 420AC and cruise. We may just do so anyway, but .... an offer exclusively to 'Boaters'... minimum 2-3 months.

That's a great idea.


If I were in your situation I would head down to the Bahamas for those months. It's an easy trip down the ICW and you could go as far as you wanted to in the chain.

Boat is currently in Ft Pierce due to trusted friends on dock to complete my 'honey do' list (and the list is 'done'...yes, it is a boat...enough said ..LOL). Ft Pierce dock neighbors planning trips to the Bahamas and we are planning on joining in. Also, dock neighbors from home port (Hammock Beach Resort's Yacht Harbor Marina, Palm Coast, FL) are off to the Keys and will be stopping by Ft Pierce...today! ).

Very nice! We keep our 420AC in Crystal River so it's a bit of a haul to get to the Bahamas. Having said that we spent 16 days going over there this past summer and enjoyed the heck out of it.

What area of the Bahamas did you visit? I am looking forward to the Bahamas and the Keys.

We explored the Abacos. Most of our time was spent in green turtle or elbow cay. In the past we have taken our boat to Bimini which was not very exciting.

I have also explored the keys by boat as well.

We have Gimme Time our 420AC which currently are on in Key West area at least till the end of February. We think we will start heading north up the Keys east coast and then over to the Bahamas and are looking to hopefully travel with people whom are knowledgable of the Bahamas so let us know if your group would be interested in having another couple tag along.

We have Gimme Time our 420AC which currently are on in Key West area at least till the end of February. We think we will start heading north up the Keys east coast and then over to the Bahamas and are looking to hopefully travel with people whom are knowledgable of the Bahamas so let us know if your group would be interested in having another couple tag along.

I believe my dock neighbors are planning June/July visits to the Bahamas (calmer seas and before Hurricane season 'ramps up' by August/September...we are 'Floridians' so do not leave FL waters by June 1st... ). You are welcome to join in !

IF I rent out my home, it would be Jan 01-Apr 30 (not December). All four months to the same couple (no monthly 'turnover'). Range would be somewhere from $3000-$3500 per month.
