I have just replaced the burl wood front behind the gauges. I am looking for some assistance on finding a UV cover that can be used while the boat is anchored and maybe not expose electronics to so much damaging light. Is there anyone out there that has one or has some ideas. I have searched and can't find anything.

You could just throw a towel over the dash. Or get get some Sunbrella canvas that either matches the boat, or use a light tan color (toast tweed, for example) and install a few snaps. Make it cover the entire dash (chart glass and compass, too) and you'll almost not even see the snaps as they will be far forward.

Where did you find the gauge surrounding
Thx

On my 97 270 DA I replaced the panel with a modern material new panel. It has not been given any special treatment since then and it looks like new. Do not make the mistake of fighting the past battle with a product that does not need it.

My dash cover covers complete gauge/chartplotter and steering wheel area. No sun damage on anything

Where did you get it and what does it look like. I am considering the other suggestion of getting snaps installed and using Sunbrella material and doing something custom but not into re-inventing the wheel if there is something out there that I don't know about. Thanks for the reply

Thanks. I am hoping that the new material will do that but it was pretty similar to what came off and I want to keep things nice looking. (My inner OCD and Fireman in me can't stand to have ratty looking things)

Add a couple of things. The new material is different than the old, looks higher quality and technology has allowed for material that will withstand UV better. Mine is 8 years old. SR had an issue with these as evidenced by the need to replace them on so many vessels.

Firebug... some boat models, in some years, had a dash cover as either a standard feature or an option. In "most" cases, it was a bigger boat item - but there were some years that even the smaller Sundancers had it available. You can check the spec sheet (also available online) to see if it was available for your model/year, but my hunch would be to say that it wasn't. Either way... even if it was available in '99, it would no longer be available through Sea Ray. You can try a company called Great Lakes, but that would probably be about the only retail avenue. Maybe you'll get lucky through Google or ebay... but most likely the easiest route will be to make it yourself or have any local upholster make it for you.

You won't need a lot of snaps. A couple snaps in key locations - make the cover to cover as much as you want - possibly even a draw string under the steering wheel, or short straps that snap onto each other under the steering wheel - the steering wheel could even be covered by a bungee cord sewn into the hem of the "bag" that goes around the wheel. Really, there's any number of ways to do it.

Mine is a factory cover, came with boat. I'm going to the boat during this week and will take a couple pics to give you some ideas. I'd guess for your boat it'll need to be custom
