I went down to the boat tonight to do a little work after un-winterizing last weekend. Fired up the heater, but it was stuck on 55 degrees. Won't let me change the temp. Switched over to AC and it kicked on ok, but same issue stuck on 55 degrees and blew ice cold air. Water was pumping through just fine. System has the digital controls. Thanks for any assistance.

Just looked at the manual for the SMX II, and it looks like I have some programming to check too. Next time I guess.

Ok, today I went back down to work on the boat. While I was there I attemped to do the resets on the panel to see if it was a programming issue. And, nothing. Still stuck on 55 degrees. Does not make a difference if AC or Heat, or pressing up or down buttons to change temp. The temp in the cabin was below 55 today so when I turned on the heat it was cranking just fine until it hit 55 degrees.

Anyone have any ideas? I am afraid the digital panel is stuck. The only other think I could think of was water temperature, but not sure if that will effect changing temp on panel.

Thanks for any help.

Your fears are correct. To put it bluntly what part of KEYPAD didn't register. I have had quite a few of these that the Temp. would not change. Some would go only up and some would only go down but it was always the Keypad. If you can, change it out with another one. Make sure it is off at the panel or you'll fry the Keypad.

I think after I buy another one and it works, that it will warrant my 2 lb sledge! :smt021 I think this celebration must warrant a burial ceremony and should include alcohol:grin:
Good morning!
I know this is a very old thread, but that is what I love about it. I can still find the answer I may be looking for.
By changing out the keypad, did that fix your problem? I am having the same issue as well currently on an original 2000 year model.
AC run great and I can lower the temp, but can NOT raise the temp up. I can switch from cool to heat, but no adjusting UP on the keypad.
