TAch isn't working, so how do I remove the dash or the gauge itself. It's the stock gauge. Does it just pull out? or do I need to remove the dash?
thanks
Paul

In our 85' 250 there's a door above the head that gives full access to the gauges. Once in there, you'll see what you need to do. But no, it doesnt simply pull out.

You should be able to reach it from an access panel located at the top in the head. This is where i installed my new accessory block.

On the back of the tach you will see a slot to insert a common screw driver. This area will show four numbers 4 6 8 meaning 4 6 8 cylinder. Take your screw driver and rotate back and forth a few times. Then check to see if your tach is working. What happens is the copper oxidizes and it does not make a good contact. This will also help cure a tach that is running erratic. This worked for me on my 300 weekender 88. Frenchie

You may want to spray all the connections with WD40 while you're in there. It sometimes helps with problems like this.

Hi Everyone...

I have a 1987 Sea Ray Sundancer and the horn button fell inside the dash. It is the top button on the left side row of buttons as shown in Wee_Isles dash pic above. It is not accessible from the door located in the head where you can access the back of the gauges and I can't get my in undeneath the dash. It appears I might have to take it apart to get to it. Does anyone know how I would get inside there? Thanks... Carl

Could you take a closer picture of the switch panel to the left. I am trying to rebuild one for my 87 Sundancer. I cant make out the switches on this pic.
Thanks
Bill
