I searched the forum here and couldn't find many opinions on the Dickinson (Canadian) barbeque's. Has anyone tried one? How do you like it compared to the monopoly brand - Magma?

From looking at it in the showroom...

Pro's:
- Handles on both sides of BBQ for easier pick-up to store in engine bay.
- Built in temperature gauge
- Grill racks seem much heavier duty (with ceramic coating) than the Magma
- Dull stainless steel finish vs the high polish (easy to get finger marks) Magma
- Cheap: 1/3 cheaper than an equivalent Magma... $199 vs $300

Cons:
- Lid doesn't seem to have a lock in it (could fly open when motoring)
- Seems slightly more bulky than other models

I too am looking to put a grill on my boat so I went to Dickinson site. I didn't see anything for $199 but that's not too important. What is important is that they look very bulky and attaching hardware looked chincy. Their best one, Spitfire 180 doesn't look too bad however it's more than the Magma. Last but not least, the lid does not lock and I think that's the deciding factor for me. I haven't cooked on either one but will let you know how the Magma cooks by the end of the month.

I think the grill grates appear to be far more substantial than the Magma's and I was wondering if there were any interchange possibilities. I would really like to upgrade the Magma grates.
