twin 2000 350 efi's- didn't prime - started port engine twice -it ran for about 8 seconds each time-thought it would refuel- it didn't - then system went dead- no reaction to ignition switch- then I did it to the stbd engine with the same result-if nothing else I am consistent-- then I find out that I should just turn on the fuel pump several times before starting- - SO- what do I look for to remedy this - electric is at ignition switch and emergency lanyard - but no response beyond that - NOTHING- - I see that some fuses are in this line- 19ed50

I thought the fuel pump would do it's thing as well.

I was just going to change mine for the 1st time this past weekend but never got around to it so I'll be watching the remarks.

Gas EFI engines usually don't need any fuel in the filter when changed, at least I never have and everything always started right up. I would look in another area for the issue. But to verify if fuel is getting to the filter, pull it off and check. If it ran for eight seconds then the fuel should be all of the way through the injectors.

thank you gentlemen

our 350 efi's with spin on filters would always stall exactly twice before running properly, even after keying the fuel pump on/off like 10 times to fill the filter.

So you don't hear the fuel pump prime for a few seconds when you key the ignition on to "RUN" ?

same as above - started motors twice - then nothing---I am not getting any electrical response in the motor compartment at all when I turn the key and I have juice to the lanyard safety switch- which I checked-and nothing at fuel pump- but accessories ( trim, lights, horn etc.) all have power

I just changed mine for first time. Did not fill the new filter. I did turn the ignition on and off a number of times for several seconds without starting - then it started right up, stalled out once and then was good to go, no issues..1998 5.7 TBI.

I had the same thing happen to me last fall when I replaced my fuel filters (which I had not pre-filled). Twin 454 Horizons. Quite frustrating to say the least. I just kept trying to start the engines every couple of minutes so as to not fry the starters. Eventually, they fired. Next time around, I will pre-fill - just seems to make sense.
