New to me boat.
My starboard trim gage wasn't working so pull switch and cleaned contacts. I think it is the gage. But looked at port trim limit and it is the three wire boat is smart craft ready but no smart craft yet.
Checking trim limit positions and drive raises they them using trim on shifter. I believe I checked this last season and it was working correctly.
Does the engine need to be running for this digital switch to limit the drive? I'm used to the analog two wire.
I with be adding the wiring to connect both engines to my Simrad go thru the nema 2000 network.
I read this digital limits can be set with smart craft. How are the working with my current analog system? The switches look sealed no screws on the outside at least can these be taken apart for service. Thanks for any help

Same situation with similar results. Gave up, at least I have an accurate gauge readout

I went through this last year when my gauge stopped working. I had the marina change the trim limit switch and after getting the boat back noticed that the limit wasn't working. I really didn't pay any attention to it before that because the gauge previously worked. Anyway I go back and explain that the limit switch doesn't work. I leave the boat and later on get a call to come in and pick up the boat.
The mechanic says to me "you're not going to believe this" well that isn't how you want to hear a sentence start. He proceeds to explain that they agreed that the trim limit wasn't working and tried to adjust the new puck since now one side is a dummy and the three wire side does it all. They couldn't get it to work so they called Merc tech support and were told that the new three wire trim senders do NOT have a limit! WTF? I said so now they actually have designed it to fail! Now it's really critical to have a working gauge and know where the limit is!

Just went thru this myself and couldn't get the limit to work. The directions say rotate till you hear the relay click and then rotate the other way till the click is heard. No click no worky. Dealer said adjust it like it was an analog unit, still no go. 1 side isn't a dummy, that one runs the gauge.

This is making NO sense. Anyone have the instructions to install the digital trim limit switch? It would be on port side three wires.

Looking for wire diagram how's does this interface with trim switch

What makes no sense is Merc making the wiring out of cheap lamp cord wire. My other wires are fine, these wires are sub standard and even the trim wires inside the boat are disintegrating.
