Dip-stick length for a 7.4liter. Help!!!

My dip stick shows that I have way too much oil in my engine. However, I noticed that the dip stick is extremely hard to push in, when there's about 4inches left to push in. It feels like I'm bending it in the bottom of the crank-case. I think I have the wrong size dip-stick.
Could someone with a 7.4Liter measure the length of their dipstick?????

Well I cant seem to pm them to you either. send me an email & I'll reply back with pics. The dip stick measures 27 1/2" from the tip to where it goes into the handle.

Just a follow up.

For the record all 7.4's are not created equal. Mine, (the oil check dip stick), measures 34.5 inches.
